Product Description

SPEC Clutch Kits for the turbocharged 2007-2009 R56 Mini Cooper S are some of the highest quality after market clutch kits on the market. Spec makes a high performance clutch option for any level of stock or modified Mini Cooper S. SPEC kits for the 07-09 Mini Cooper S include the pressure plate, applicable bearings and clutch disc. SPEC Stage 4 and 5 Clutch kits for the Mini Cooper S are available by special order but are very aggressive and suggested for race prepped Mini Coopers only.

Please Note:
Because Mini Cooper models come factory with a factory dual mass (sprung) flywheel, if you plan to keep your factory flywheel you'll need a rigid disc design (Unsprung Clutch). If you plan to install a new unsprung aftermarket flywheel you'll need a Sprung Clutch. These kits are often built to order which usually takes 1-3 business days.

SPEC Stage 1
Features an integrally molded carbon Kevlar-based, high performance organic lining that offers smooth engagement and excellent life. This lining has an integrally bonded steel backing for strength under high clamp loads and temperatures. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility and heat treated components for strength and durability. This clutch kit is suggested for stock or mildly modified daily driven cars.

SPEC Stage 2
Features segmented or full faced pure Kevlar disc with steel backing. This lining features excellent drivability like the stage 1, but offers slightly longer life and higher torque capacity. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility and heat treated components for strength and durability. This clutch is best for street driven mildly modified cars that see occasional track use.

SPEC Stage 2+
Features a multi-friction disc in a full faced configuration with carbon semi-metallic on one side and Kevlar on the other. The 2+ offers the drivability and engagement quality of stage 2, but with a 15-20% higher torque capacity. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility and heat treated components for strength and durability. Great for street, drag, autocross, road racing, rally and drift.

SPEC Stage 3
Features a carbon semi-metallic 6 puck sprung hub disc that has been the leading puck clutch in drivability, life & torque capacity. This unit is designed for street & race cars that require an aggressive but streetable engagement & high torque capacity. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility & heat treated for strength and durability. This clutch is suggested for highly modified street or track cars.

SPEC Stage 3+
The flagship stage for a high powered street or race car that requires a manageable and friendly engagement, the stage 3+ features a carbon semi-metallic full faced material that offers unparalleled life, friction co-efficient and drivability characteristics in one single package. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility and heat treated components for strength and durability. This setup is suggested for very highly modified cars that mainly see track driving.

SPEC Stage 4 RACE CLUTCH
This unit is a solid hub version of the stage 3. The hub is solid 8-rivet and the assembly is heat treated for strength and durability. It is available in a 3, 4 or 6 puck configuration. Use the 3 puck for the lightest option or the 6 puck for the smoothest engagement. The 4 puck is a good compromise for both. Street drivable in 6 puck configuration, but not street friendly due to the rigid hub. OFF ROAD USE ONLY! This setup is intended for track use only.

SPEC Stage 5 RACE CLUTCH
Features a full-metallic disc with the highest possible friction co-efficient. Street drivable but not street-friendly. The hub is solid 12-rivet and the assembly is heat treated for strength and durability. Best for extreme street and drag racing. This setup allows for quick shifting and is just about as tough as a single disc setup can get. This setup is suggested for track use only.
