SPEC clutch kits for the Mitsubishi Evolution 8 & 9 are some of the highest quality performance clutch kits on the market. SPEC makes a high performance clutch option for you; whether your EVO 8/9 is a bone stock daily driver or a fully modified track beast.

Every SPEC Clutch kit features:
High clamp pressure plate
High torque sprung hub and disc assembly
Bearing and alignment tool kit


SPEC Stage 1 features an integrally molded carbon Kevlar-based, high performance organic lining that offers smooth engagement and excellent life. This lining has an integrally bonded steel backing for strength under high clamp loads and temperatures. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility and heat treated components for strength and durability. Stage 1 is suggested for OEM replacement, daily driven or lightly modified 03-06 Evolution 8/9.

SPEC Stage 2 features a pure Kevlar disc with steel backing. This lining features excellent drivability like the Stage 1, but offers slightly longer life and higher torque capacity. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility and heat treated components for strength and durability. Best for the moderately modified or daily driver Evolution 8/9

SPEC's Stage 2+ features a multi-friction disc in a full faced configuration with carbon semi-metallic on one side and Kevlar on the other. The 2+ offers the drivability and engagement quality of Stage 2, but with a 15-20% higher torque capacity. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility and heat treated components for strength and durability. Stage 2+ is suggested for highly modified but daily driven Evo 8s & 9s that will see some track time. Torque capacity is rated at 300ft/lbs at the crank.

The SPEC Stage 3 clutch kit features a carbon semi-metallic 6-puck sprung hub disc that has been the leading pucked clutch in drivability, life & torque capacity. Stage 3 is designed for street & race cars that require an aggressive but streetable engagement & high torque capacity. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility & heat treated for strength and durability. Suggested for highly modified, street, autocross & track driven 03-06 Evolution 8 & 9.

Stage 3+ is the flagship stage for a high powered street or race car that requires a manageable and friendly engagement. The SPEC Stage 3+ features a carbon semi-metallic full faced material that offers unparalleled life, friction coefficient and drivability characteristics in one single package. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility and heat treated components for strength and durability. Suggested for very highly modified, streetable autocross & track driven Evo 8s & 9s.

The SPEC Stage 4 is a solid hub version of the Stage 3. The hub is solid 8-rivet and the assembly is heat treated for strength and durability. It is available in 6-puck for the smooth engagement. The Stage 4 is street drivable but not street friendly due to the rigid hub. Best for dedicated drag racing, road racing, rally or drift cars. Not suggested for any street driven Evolution 8 or 9.
